Meet Dean

Dean Marchetti started on the tools as a concreter in Western Sydney straight out of school, and spent the better part of a decade pouring and finishing slabs before he ever picked up a grinder. That background is the reason Ironclad Floor Solutions exists. Dean kept being called back to floors that had been coated by someone else and had already failed — peeling under hot tyres, bubbling at the joints, lifting in sheets within a year. Almost every time, the coating itself wasn’t the problem. The preparation was. He founded Ironclad in 2011 to do it the right way: mechanically prepare every slab, never cut the corner that customers can’t see, and stand behind the work in writing.

Fifteen years on, Dean has personally prepared and coated everything from single suburban garages to multi-thousand-square-metre distribution-centre floors across Sydney. He holds his trade qualifications, is a Sika Flooring Approved Applicator, and runs Ironclad as a Master Builders NSW member. His philosophy hasn’t changed since day one: a floor coating is only ever as good as what’s underneath it. Diamond grinding, moisture testing, crack repair and the correct concrete profile aren’t the glamorous part of the job, but they are the whole job — the colour and the gloss are just what you see. Dean still attends quotes personally across Western Sydney and the Hills, because he’d rather tell a customer the honest truth about their slab up front than be called back to fix a shortcut later.
