About Commercial Epoxy Flooring

Commercial epoxy flooring gives showrooms, retail spaces, offices, gyms, clinics and hospitality venues a hard-wearing, seamless floor that looks sharp and shrugs off constant foot traffic, trolleys and cleaning. A professionally installed commercial system is far more durable and far easier to maintain than tiles, vinyl or sealed concrete — there are no grout lines to scrub, no joints to lift, and the pore-free surface wipes clean and resists staining, which keeps an everyday-busy space looking presentable with minimal effort.

First impressions matter in commercial settings, so we offer the full range of finishes. A high-gloss solid colour reads clean and professional for retail and offices; a flake system adds slip resistance and disguises wear for gyms and high-traffic areas; and a metallic floor creates a genuine wow-factor for showrooms, receptions and feature zones. Whatever the look, the floor is engineered for the traffic it’ll see, with the topcoat and slip resistance specified for the use — retail foot traffic, gym equipment, trolley wheels or medical-grade hygiene requirements.

We understand that commercial work has to fit around a business, not the other way around. We program jobs around your trading hours — nights, weekends or staged sections — and lean on fast-curing polyaspartic systems where return-to-service speed is critical, so you can be back open with minimal downtime. We carry $20 million in public liability insurance, work to SafeWork NSW requirements, and run clean, well-managed sites so your premises, staff and customers are looked after throughout.

Every commercial floor is built on the same disciplined preparation as our residential work — diamond grinding to the correct profile, crack and joint repair, moisture testing and priming — because a commercial floor that fails is far more costly than the preparation that prevents it. From a single retail fit-out to a multi-stage showroom or office floor, we deliver a durable, attractive, low-maintenance surface backed by our written warranty. Book a free on-site quote and we’ll assess your slab, recommend the right system, and program the work around your operations.

Coating Systems for Commercial Epoxy Flooring

We recommend the right system for how you use the space and the condition of your slab. The systems best suited to commercial epoxy flooring are:

  • Solid Colour EpoxyA clean, uniform single-colour high-build epoxy for a crisp commercial-look floor that brightens the space and cleans easily.
  • Flake & Chip Broadcast EpoxyDecorative vinyl flakes broadcast into an epoxy base coat and sealed — the most popular all-round system for garages and high-traffic floors.
  • Metallic EpoxyReflective metallic pigments worked by hand into a clear epoxy for flowing, marble-like, one-of-a-kind decorative floors.
  • Polyaspartic CoatingsAliphatic polyurea coatings that cure fast and stay UV-stable — used as a high-performance topcoat or full build for speed and sun resistance.
  • Anti-Slip & Safety CoatingsGraded aggregate bound into a coating to deliver measurable AS 4586 slip resistance for ramps, wet areas, kitchens and pool decks.

Not sure which is right? Our coating systems guide compares durability, cost, UV stability and cure time side by side.

Surface Preparation Comes First

The single biggest factor in whether your commercial epoxy flooring lasts is what happens before the coating goes down. We diamond-grind the concrete to the correct CSP 2–3 profile, moisture-test the slab, structurally repair cracks and joints, and apply a penetrating primer. Skipping any of this is exactly why cheap coatings bubble, peel and delaminate within months. Read more about how we prepare concrete.

Pricing & Timeframe

As a guide, commercial epoxy flooring typically costs from around $35–$80 per , depending on the system, the size of the area and the condition of the concrete. Every quote is a fixed price confirmed after we inspect your floor in person — there are no hourly surprises. Most commercial floors are staged around your operations, and every job is backed by our 10-year written warranty and $20 million public liability public liability cover.

  1. 01

    Free On-Site Quote

We visit your Sydney property, assess the floor area and condition, discuss the coating system options, and provide a written fixed-price quote. No obligation.

  2. 02

    Surface Preparation

We diamond-grind the concrete to the correct profile, test for moisture, repair any cracks or damage, and apply primer. This step decides whether your floor lasts 10 years or 10 months.

  3. 03

    Base Coat Application

The epoxy base coat is applied to the prepared surface. For flake systems, decorative chips are broadcast at this stage. For metallic systems, pigment and metallic powder are worked into the wet coat.

  4. 04

    Topcoat & Sealing

A clear polyurethane or polyaspartic topcoat is applied for protection, sheen and slip resistance. This is the surface you see and walk on.

  5. 05

    Cure & Handover

Light foot traffic typically within 24 hours, full vehicle or heavy traffic within 72 hours. We walk through the finished floor with you and leave the site clean.

Commercial Epoxy Flooring — FAQs

How much does commercial epoxy flooring cost?

Commercial systems typically range from $35 to $80 per square metre, with larger areas more cost-effective per square metre. Price depends on the system, slab condition, slip and hygiene requirements, and access. We provide a written fixed-price quote after a site assessment.

Can you install around our trading hours?

Yes. We routinely program commercial work for nights, weekends or in staged sections so your business keeps trading. Where downtime must be minimal we use fast-curing polyaspartic systems that return to service quickly. We’ll build a schedule around your operations.

How long will our floor be out of action?

It depends on the system and area. A fast-cure polyaspartic floor can be back in light service the next day; a standard epoxy build needs longer between coats. We’ll give you a clear timeline and return-to-service date in the quote so you can plan around it.

How durable is a commercial epoxy floor?

Very durable. A correctly prepared and specified commercial floor handles years of heavy foot traffic, trolleys and cleaning. The topcoat is the wear layer and can be refreshed down the track to extend the floor’s life even further, protecting your investment.

Is the floor slip-resistant and compliant?

We specify slip resistance to suit the space and can meet AS 4586 slip-resistance requirements where needed — important for retail entries, wet areas and back-of-house. Anti-slip aggregate is built into the topcoat at the level the use demands.

What preparation is involved in a commercial fit-out?

The same disciplined process as all our work: diamond grinding to the correct profile, crack and joint repair, moisture testing and priming. Thorough preparation is even more important commercially, because a floor failure means lost trading time, not just an inconvenience.

Can you match our brand colours?

Yes. Solid colour systems can be matched to brand palettes, and we can incorporate colour zoning or contrasting areas to define spaces. Flake blends and metallic effects can also be tailored to your interior. We’ll plan the look with you at the quote.

Do you carry insurance and work to safety standards?

Yes. We carry $20 million in public liability insurance, work to SafeWork NSW requirements, and run clean, well-managed sites with the documentation commercial clients and builders expect. We’re a Master Builders NSW member and a Sika Approved Applicator.
